Belonging Circles

Belonging Circles is a curriculum guide for after-school programs focused on building cross-cultural understanding in children. ESAC piloted, created and now distributes the resource, free-of-charge, to family centers, schools and other groups working with youth in the metro area.

Belonging Circles curriculum:
• initiates dialogue about belonging and a sense of place
• promotes intercultural respect and understanding in our community
• helps children recognize their rights as humans from any culture, in any country
• builds recognition that the arts can be both universal and culturally distinct
• develops skills of self-expression, discipline and determination through the art-making process
• models cooperative, respectful relationships
