School Partnerships
ESAC’s award-winning Arts Infusion uses the arts to boost learning of core subjects. Using innovative, best-practices methods developed over many years working with schools, ESAC brings arts residencies and projects to East Side schools. We focus on designing programs and providing resource connections that create a lasting presence of arts in the schools.
Matching local professional artists who are trained to work with students with the enriching experiences of music, dance, visual art, theater, and storytelling, we help schools meet curriculum content standards. We build on each school’s strengths, unique needs and student population, resulting in a resonant learning experience for underserved and diverse constituencies.
Recent successful partnerships include Phalen Lake Elementary, City Academy, Prosperity Heights Elementary, Hazel Park Middle School Academy and Highwood Hills Elementary, Academia Cesar Chavez School, Bruce F. Vento Elementary, Dayton's Bluff Achievement Plus Elementary, Farnsworth Aerospace Elementary School, and John A. Johnson Elementary
Arts Infusion Goals:
• To provide free, accessible, high-quality arts education for East Side youth
• To build children’s creative and self-expressive skills while linking to core subjects
• To work with challenged East Side schools that are struggling to keep the arts in their curricula
• To celebrate the accomplishments of participants
• To engage young people in making art together with professional artists and other community members
• To work with teachers to feel comfortable teaching art in their classrooms
