Position: After School Teaching Artist
Hours: Part time, contract work (2-10 hours/week for an 11 week session)
Pay: $25/hour
Primary Duties: East Side Arts Council is seeking professional teaching artists to lead after school art classes. We work with 7 St. Paul Public schools and 16 different rec centers, offering a wide range of arts experiences. The youth we work with range in age from elementary (grades Kindergarten through 6th grade) and middle school students. We are currently seeking the following types of instructors:
-Clay and Ceramics instructor
-Puppet and Sculpture instructor
-Drill Team instructor
-Drumming instructor
Applicants are NOTÂ required to teach all of these subjects, only one is necessary to be considered.
Experience: To be considered for these openings, applicants must have a desire to teach at-risk youth in an out of school time setting. Past experience working with students in the inner city a plus. We also ask to see a portfolio of the artist's work as well as references from past teaching experience.
The ideal applicant is a practicing artist currently active in their craft, seeking opportunities to become more involved in their community and to bring quality arts experiences to East Side youth.

Position: Youth Worker Intern
Hours: 20-25 hour/month from October through December 2011
Pay: $200 stipend
Primary Duties: The Youth Worker Intern will help with an out-of-school day program called Kidventure, held at Dayton's Bluff Recreation Center. The position has a strong hands-on arts focus for youth grades K-6. The intern will work closely with our Kidventure Coordinator, helping run errands, lead activities with youth, assist with discipline and help with daily check-in/out of participants. The intern may also accompany youth on field trips and have some parent interaction. There will also be some administrative tasks to be done in the office, on non-camp days.

Position: Lights On After School Volunteer
Primary Duties: ESAC seeks one or two volunteers to help man the booth at St. Paul Public Schools Lights On After school event. Volunteers assist students, grades 6-8th, with created a small design, made from collage, to then be turned into a button the student can wear.
When: The event takes place on October 6th, 2011 from 3-5pm.
