SOLIDARITY STREET GALLERY is not simply a fine art exhibition, nor just another festival on the city’s calendar. It is a movement. It is an invitation to unite, reflect, and contribute to a shared vision of unity. It is a call to embrace humanity and all connections that define us.
During the three-day weekend of October 10-12, five blocks of Payne Avenue will be transformed into a walkable “Street Gallery,” gathering neighbors, artists, visitors as well as local shop owners and staff into a living tapestry of Saint Paul’s East Side: storefronts, galleries, and businesses become portals to creativity, filling the street with the energy of cultural expression.
· Three Galleries anchor the event, each offering thoughtfully curated exhibitions that showcase the depth and diversity of contemporary art and reflect the unique character of the community.
· About 20 Local Businesses join the festivities, opening their doors to become impromptu exhibition spaces, hosting fine art, inviting dialogue, and fostering unexpected connections between artists and audiences.
· Live Music Performances infuse the atmosphere with celebratory rhythms, ranging from folk to hip-hop and global sounds, ensuring every moment is alive with possibility.
· Spoken Word Readings carve out space for poets, storytellers, and voices from all backgrounds to share their truths and invite reflection on what it means to belong.
· Artist Talks and a Panel Discussion foster deep engagement, offering insights into process, intention, and the pressing social and environmental challenges that inspire so much of the art on display.
· Community Art Activities welcome all ages, encouraging hands-on participation in collaborative creative exercises designed to spark imagination and connection.
· Delicious food will be served at many outstanding local eateries, as well as a food truck!
